I Never Run Out of Mana Chapter 23

23. Noblesse Guild (4)

After Min-Cheol left the guild, Park Hyun summoned all the Noblesse guild’s vice leaders to the office.

Sitting at the end of a huge office table, Park Hyun opened her mouth.

“Is everyone here?”

“Yes!”

“Good. Today, we will be discussing about the capture of Noblesse’s new guild member, Min-Cheol.”

Guild master Park Hyun – Her responsibilities wasn’t just to be a guild master of Noblesse.

She was a comrade of the radical forces, in charge of supplying them with new members.

Capturing guild members under her, or using debt owed to force others to work towards a world only for the Awakened was what she did.

Park Hyun continued.

“There could be people who do not understand his existence, so could you explain briefly, Mr. Sangmin?”

“Yes master.”

With Park Hyun’s words, Sangmin stood up and spoke zealously similar to a private in front of their commander.

“When did you meet with Min-Cheol?”

“What was his level then?”

“He said it was 13.”

“I see. But before you entered a level 12 dungeon together, he used Lightning Spray?”

“Yes master. Despite the weapon, equipment, and accessories being a useless disguise that didn’t provide anything, he was able to use Lightning Spray 4 times. Suspicious if he was lying to us, we entered the dungeon together, and I saw that his body glowed when he finished the manticore hunt. He had leveled up.”

“For the week after that you hunted together, and he continued to level up, correct?”

“Yes, that’s right. Seems he has some incredible ability.”

“Good. Thank you. Let’s hear one more. Mr. Hwang Jae Hyuk?”

From the corner of the room, Hwang Jae Hyuk showed the same zealous movement like Sangmin did.

Jae Hyuk and Sangmin both did not have the rights to attend the meeting of vice leaders, but they were attending because they were needed for this meeting.

“Yes master!”

“You’re in the same class as Min-Cheol, right?”

“Yes, that’s correct.”

“Can you explain what you saw, Mr. Jae Hyuk?”

Hesitating for a bit, he gave in to the pressure of all the attention on him and spoke.

“Originally, Min-Cheol wasn’t anyone important at school since he wasn’t Awakened. Only useful for being a bread train. After the summer break though, he became stronger than me when he came back to school, and I was Awakened a year ago.”

“Good. So that means that within one month, Min-Cheol grew to meet what you accomplished in a year, right?”

“Yes, that’s correct.”

“How did you find out?”

“That… On the first day, we got into a fight and despite fighting fiercely, I lost in the end.” 1

“Thank you, Mr. Jae Hyuk. Mr. Jae Hyuk and Mr. Sangmin, please wait a moment.”

Jae Hyuk sat with a red face that looked like it was about to explode from embarrassment.

“When I first saw Min-Cheol, it was after he had soloed a Kelvecore. Of course he was injured to the point of death, but someone who had only been an Awakened for less than a month had completed a level 12 dungeon and the hidden boss as well.”

With Park Hyun’s words, the office became unsettled.

“We do not know of his exact ability, but there is a portion we can guess. An incredible amount of magic regeneration!”

“You’re saying that a passive regarding mana regen exists?”

“How could it be.”

Park Hyun spoke.

“For now, it is merely an assumption, but we can find out the truth if we can turn him to our side. Whatever his ability is, it is without a doubt that it carries an incredible amount of hidden potential.”

“If he declines…..”

Park Hyun looked straight into the eyes of secretary Lee Jae Young as she answered his question.

“Well, we’d have to take care of it following protocol. If a kitten grows into a tiger and sides with the government… That would be a headache. So we’ll kill him.”

To her killing intent, everyone in the office couldn’t help but become tense.

The questions continued, as if to shake off the mood.

“Do you have any good ideas to turn him to our cause?”

“He’s currently obsessed with money. He’s struggling to part with being poor.”

“…..”

“The reason why he joined Noblesse was for money! To get the sword, that is.”

“At this rate of growth, he’ll be able to obtain a huge sum of money within months. Will he just accept the deal that easily?”

“Apologies to everyone, but I will be offering an incredible sum of money.”

All the members in the office became uneasy.

Everyone thought, ‘how much will she pay a greenhorn who just became an Awakened?’

“20 billion! Even if he is able to understand his potential, it will be difficult to decline an amount that he hasn’t even been able to see his entire life. If this method doesn’t work, I have one other plan.”

“What is it?”

“Using his only family member… His mother.”

“We’re going to use his mother as a hostage?”

Hearing the question, Park Hyun gave chilling smile.2

“We can’t rush and make him our enemy. The only thing we have to do is this. Just have to show that his mother was injured or killed due to a non-Awakened member who is a high ranking personnel in the government. Then naturally, he will become enraged towards the useless government, no?”

It was too much to handle for most of how easily Park Hyun treated people’s lives like flies or ants.

The meeting was over and all participants left.

Sangmin and Jae Hyuk who had connections to Min-Cheol were the only ones left waiting in the office.

“Mr. Sangmin and Mr. Jae Hyuk, your roles are crucial. Whether you have a positive or a negative relationship with Min-Cheol, you are the only guild members with a connection toward him, so I’m trusting you to make this offer to him.”

“Yes master.”

“I understand.”

“Please keep an eye on every move he makes. And no matter what happens, you cannot give our identity away. Until the prepared plan works out perfectly……”

“Understood.”

Both answered with zeal.

“Then, I ask of you. Together, for tomorrow’s glory!”

To Park Hyun’s raised arm, both shouted with a fist on their own chest. 3

“For glory!”

“For glory!”

Jae Hyuk had not been recognized in the guild or the radical faction. With advice from the guild, he joined, but he did not accomplish anything of note.

So he saw Park Hyun’s words as a chance.

‘If I am able to capture this little shit…… Wouldn’t it be a big accomplishment? Finally, I get an opportunity. An opportunity to secure my position!’

Her instructions were already forgotten, blinded by the desire to succeed.

After the conversation was over, Park Hyun sent Sangmin and Jae Hyuk back.

Park Hyun, now seemingly alone, tilted back her chair and spoke to the ceiling.

“Jin.”

The shadow of a desk in the corner of the office started to distort.

A man’s form, as if a puff of smoke, appeared.

His nickname was ‘Jin’, and he had the same ranking in the rebellion as Park Hyun.

With a plain smile fading from his face, he went towards Park Hyun and spoke.

“Seems I heard something interesting.”

“It is as you heard. I need you to go out there.”

“You need me to handle the little brat?”

“No, please keep an eye on the two I just sent.”

“Ku ku kuk, you are vile as ever.”

“It’s an important job for the mission. Jin, you’ll have to act with prudence.”

“Sure. If both of them betray or try to leak information, I will take care of them according to our creed.”

After finishing what he had to say, he hid himself into the shadows again.

“Whether or not the recruitment for Min-Cheol will succeed depends on how much of a good catalyst those two will be.”

  1. Lol, i was complete wrong in my previous comment, too bad i really wanted for her to be one of the good guys, after all a good healer is always nice to have.

      1. too bad, that with this chapter, since she is planning to harm his mom, we can only expect for a ball of laser to “attack” everyone of the guild, since that seems to be the most OP spell ever for him,,even more the meteor, since it can attack anyone from 5-100m radius , and the prejudice is the mana consumption but since he have infinite mana, it would be wrong even to call it OP.
The one responsible for the killing task would be the femele warrior, since she gives the sub-leader vibes and the dialogue, i just want to see how it will unfold, have checked the raws there is 110 chapters out, but i could only find 50 for free :(, the wait is killing me but i think i will wait, at least i will try.

        1. The most recent raw is 140, posted today. Chapter 32 and onward are paid chapters, so. We will try to see if we can increase the post rates, but no promises. ;]

          1. yeah; i’m happy with the chapters you guys are doing.
i’m to poor to pay for the chapter on the official website, so i have searched myself for the raws, where i found it ; it said that was it had 110 but they only had the links until 50; so the post i have made download must be old since there is 140 chapters in the “official” website like you have said.
If you guys want i can send your the 50 chapters i have; just send me email with this subject; since i need to write my email to post here you guys should be able to know.

    1. She’s a guild leader, she has to make the choices necessary to keep her guild as strong as possible. It’s not wrong unless she actually kills the mother or if she gets found out about the whole thing.

      1. nah dude; i believe you have missed the point here; she is not doing this for the guild; she is part of a terrorist(radical) group; that believe that awakened should govern the world; this have become pretty clear by the last chapters; she does not want him for her guild; she want him for her master plan; to govern the entire world with awakened at the top and for that she is willing to kill ANYONE because of her ideology of the “stronger eat the weaker”.
So if the MC does not agree with her plan; she is planning to kill him now, since he is weak; than allow him to grown stronger and maybe go against her in the future, since what she is planning is against the law; they have make multiple references about the current govern etc.

      2. Dude do you even read.. She is part of a radical group the want awakened to be the top dogs…
They want to lead rebellion to the government that’s why they need MC’s power

      3. Yeah, like the others said, she’s pretty evil. She wants him to join their radical group, and the guild is just a front to recruit people.

First she’s going to try to bribe the MC with money, and if that doesn’t work she wants to pull him in by getting someone from the “normal people” government to hurt the MC’s mother (or maybe making it look like it’s one of them? She didn’t clarify). If she still can’t win over the MC then she plans to murder him before he can become stronger and get the chance to side with the government.

      4. I don’t see how her loyalty being towards her guild or her revolutionary movement would affect the morality of her actions though? It’s not like governments are automatically right just because they are governments. They are institutions which exist to protect the rights of the people who control them which, depending on where you are, is either the incredibly wealthy or the politically powerful which, generally, mean the same thing.

The primary problem is the whole killing his mother to get to him thing. It would be different if he provided some tangible threat to whatever she held dear and she was going to kill HIM, the threat, but that’s not what she’s doing and he only provides a threat inasmuch as he could potentially be stronger than them in the future.

Really her whole ‘strong devour the weak’ ideology is kinda hilarious considering how pitifully weak her guild is. She’s still going to have pretty much the same position in the new world order if they succeed. She won’t be non-awakened, so she won’t be at the bottom, but she’s also only of middling power so she won’t be at the top.

    1. True… If they were honest about it he might be willing to hear their cause out. But their cause is probably something like the strong tramples the weak which would affect his mother…

    1. i can bet my money on that previous laser spell, remember the one? who can attack anyone in 5-100m range? it would be perfect for this situation against a guild, even more since is a middle level guild, so i bet there will be no one stronger enough to survive the laser who have A rank attack power.

    1. MC doesn’t learn from others HAHAHAHAHA

Do you fckng know why MCs go solo and don’t join guilds when they are not strong enough????

I mean, he basically goes from 0 to 100 in just a couple of months with people seeing how he progresses. First he tells people he’s level 13 then again with him being level 69(?? Not sure).

You fckng know you have an insane speed of levelling and that’s one of your trump cards so why de he fckng so easily fckng tell it to others.

Just for money you expose your ability so easily???? Fckng sht

  3. ==50 Years Later==

“Gather up kiddies! Tonight, Papa Neo will tell you chickens about one of the darkest history of the Awakens before the rise of humanity.” (Papa Neo)
    “”Yaaa~y~!!””
“Alright, alright. Now sit and listen well, this is a story about the demise of the once glorious and prosperous guild, turned into smithereens in one single night. The guild name was Noblesse, the guild that was once stood at the top.”

  4. Please author-san, dont you dare use the latter option just so min-cheol will hate the gov’t, i dont want to see him broken because his mother died…i will hate very big time..but i guess that foreshadowing is really interesting..what is their goal…hmmmmm…

  5. I’m glad the author’s not going to try and kludge together some situation where the guild-leader is using the illegal (and un-enforceable) debt to control the protagonist like it seemed last chapter, but her new scheme is still pretty awkward.

She should have taken advantage of the debt, but in a different way. She should have arranged for it to look like the gangsters who hold the debt kill his mother (possibly even getting them to really do it, if she can). This opens a whole SLEW of options. One is the obvious, that he goes on a killing spree against the gangsters, becoming an outlaw and therefore falling into the arms of the radicals because he has nowhere else to go. Another is that the government flubs the investigation as they usually do, because obviously such a group of gangsters only goes around killing people because they’ve got enough cops and politicians on payroll to make sure that they’ll never be punished for it. This destroys his faith in the government, pushing him into the arms of the radicals.

Even better, option two leads to option one. The guild leader positions it so that she or one of her aides (perhaps one of the members of the team which he semi-trusts) is there to hold him back from going on a killing spree right when he discovers his mother’s death, telling him something along the lines that even though the government is incompetent he has to let them handle things like this because his mother wouldn’t want him to go to prison or get executed for going on a revenge fueled killing spree. They say that the guild will use all their influence to push the government into action. Meanwhile they actually use all the people in the police and government who THEY own to ensure that the case goes nowhere, just in case the gangsters don’t have enough influence to protect themselves. Then in the end they regretfully admit that this gang is too powerful, that there are too many corrupt humans in the government supporting them, and that nothing will be done. Naturally he goes over the edge, goes on a killing spree, and is brought into the radical group both having nowhere else to turn and having a deep hatred of the government.

This is how I’d do it at least, if I had the same information she does. Obviously they’re probably already screwed because they’ve been so blatant with their actions that it’s common knowledge (or at least rumor) that they’re actually a ‘secret’ radical group, but the guild master doesn’t seem to realize that he knows that?

  6. MC is just so fucking dumb and has now endangered him and his mother because he’s a greedy cunt.

There was no reason for him to join a party and reveal his overpowered ability, he was supposed to be hiding it and keeping it a secret yet has failed miserable.
